In Ibes' work, quotidian constructs take on a life of their own—self replicating, colonizing, mutating into dynamic homeostasis that is simultaneously disintegrating and regenerating, dying away and reviving.

Cherie Ibes is the Owner/director of Block Gallery. She holds a BA degree in political science from UC Davis and an MS degree in occupational therapy from San Jose State University. After graduating from UC Davis, she enrolled in sculpture classes through the UC Davis Extension program, studying with the late Robert Arneson and Manuel Neri. More recently, she returned to UC Davis to study sculpture with Lucy Puls. She lives and works in the Sierra Foothills near Coloma, CA.
